Waking up in a Spring Hill Suites is kind of like waking up in a fluffy cloud. The bed dislike sleeping on air and the sheets and pillows are so soft you would think you are hugging a big, fluffy dog. I got out of bed, went down stairs and got some breakfast. I love how you can make your own waffles! That is one of the best parts!
I headed back up, packed up, and we headed out. We drove for about two-three hours before we stopped for lunch. We stopped at the Roadkill Cafe. Where there moto is “You kill it, we grill it!’. I got a hearty buffalo burger which was very good, yet hard to eat with all these braces in my mouth!
We got back on the road and headed towards Williams. Williams is a neat little town filled with cool stores. I noticed that there was a beef jerky store. I had to get some fresh beef jerky. The owner told me that a local club went out once a week just to go hunting. He said that he buys the meat from them and makes jerky. I will admit that this jerky was very good!
We continued on to the grand canyon. The drive was not too long. Only about two hours there and two hours back. Yet, the canyon looked very pretty this time of day. It was a hot day (as all days in the desert are) so we didn’t stay too long. We did get to look around the national park though.
On our way to Flagstaff I had mom pull over on the side of the road just so that I could get out of the car and wander into the woods. I will explain to you what you are able to hear in the middle of no-where: nothing. It was dead silent.
We continued on driving, but not far, to Flagstaff. Took a few turns to find the hotel, but we did it! We had dinner at Red Lobster and had an amazing Crab and Alfredo sauce pasta with some coconut shrimp! Yum! We came back to the hotel.
I once again rode my rip-stick in the parking lot and then went for a nice little swim. The swimming pool was packed with kids, and when I say packed I mean PACKED! There must have been twenty-five kids in a small pool! It was insane. I came back took a shower and now I sit here on the hotel couch getting ready for another fun day tomorrow!
